i made this banner for a gaf thread about the announcement of a video that would show off some new features for an incremental firmware update. as you probably know, all gaf threads need banners.

how much ps3 do you want?

Posted in jan 2007_jar, ps3_jar on July 14, 2008 by jarosh

developer 1: “we’ve only used 10% of the ps3’s power!”
developer 2: “look at these amazing graphics. they are only 20% of what we can do with the ps3!”
developer 3: “it’s gonna be years until we use more than 50% of the ps3’s true power.”

alrighty then, how about we pay for what we get if all of that is true.

this is america

Posted in nov 2006_jar, ps3_jar on July 12, 2008 by jarosh

i’ll let you in on a secret… the guy in the video actually says: “this is america, man!”. i made up the “dude” part because i thought it would work better in the gif.

in case you wondered, the footage is from a 1up show episode where a bunch of people on the street were asked about the ps3s they were gonna buy for reselling on ebay. the big guy in the white shirt uttered the aforementioned phrase in response to a question about the moral implications of buying and reselling a product in short supply but high demand for an exorbitant price. after which the short guy in the hat made his now infamous shrug-face into the camera.
